Silent Auction: Last Chance to Bid

Read-A-Thon

The library is hosting another Read-A-Thon! Students of all ages are invited to participate from November 1st-30th to raise money for Ride 2 Survive, a local organization assisting with transportation expenses for Sullivan County residents who have been diagnosed with cancer or pre-malignant conditions.

Sheep to Yarn:
Hand Spinning Workshop

Join Iris Gillingham, farm director at Gael Roots Community Farm, and learn how to make wool into yarn! This two-part series will teach you about the tools and techniques used in spinning as well as provide hands-on experience.

It is recommended, but not required, to attend both parts of this series. Please note: Part One will be at the Livingston Manor Branch and Part Two will be at the farm.

How to Generate Writing Workshop

New and established writers are invited to join Teresa Tulipano for a free workshop:

  • writing “clinic” for those who are stuck in an existing work or looking to generate new writing

  • open to new and established writers

  • open to writers across genres

  • gain experience with guided, timed writings

  • learn prompts that can be used to jumpstart future writing

  • sharing your new writing is encouraged but not required

***To apply for one of the limited spots, please email a writing sample (no more than 500 words) to [email protected] by October 27th. Participants will be notified by October 31st if they have been accepted.

Manor Ink

Manor Ink is seeking student reporters! Working with our local award-winning, youth-led newspaper is not only a great way for students to spend their summer hours, but it offers a unique and invaluable experience for aspiring writers, photographers, journalists, and the like.

Teens ages 12 to 17 are invited to engage with the community, share their voice, and earn financial rewards for their writing and art along the way. Manor Ink meets every Wednesday at 3:00pm. Adult mentors are encouraged to join as well.
